Ex-Speaker tasks Nasarawa Assembly on mutual executive-legislative relations

A two-term Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and current Accountant General of the State, Rt. Hon. Dr Musa Ahmed Mohammed has advised members of the 7th Assembly to live in unity and peace within themselves.

He also advised them to cooperate and maintain good working relationships with the executive arm to bring speedy development to the State and its various constituencies.

Dr Musa gave the advice when Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation visited his office on 2023 budget performance Monday in Lafia.

He said that no meaningful progress and development would take place in an atmosphere of rancour.

The Baraden Nasarawa recalled how his leadership as the Speaker of the 4th Assembly carried out legislative assignments without fear or favour, promising to be accountable and transparent while discharging his duties.

He extended hands of friendship to the Committee and the House for the overall development of the State.

Earlier, Hon. Hudu Hudu (APC-Awe North), Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation said that the exercise was to assess the State Accountant General’s Office 2023 budget performance.

Hudu said that the visit was not to witch-hunt but to ensure that right things were done for the overall development of the State.
