Association of Student Counsellors in Nigeria (ASCON), University of Ilorin chapter, has nominated former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Community Intervention to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Oyin-Zubair for an exemplary alumni award of excellence.

In the letter of nomination signed by the executive president of the association, Mr. Kehinde Muhammed, the governor’s aide was considered for the award for his contributions to community development.

“Oyin-Zubair was considered and found worthy of the award based on his track record and sterling performances in community development and contributions to the development of rural areas in the state and the nation at large,” he said.

President of the ASCON also said a formal investiture of the award would hold on Oyin-Zubair at the association’s eighth annual public lecture and launching of the Mind Surgeon Magazine.

He said that the programme would be held in honour of Professor A. O. Oniye on July 12, at the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin.

“It is our hope and belief that this award will further drive more alumni to contribute to community development and nation building.

“We hope that you will accept this award and also honour the gathering with your presence at the event,” the letter said.
