Ex-KASCO MD accuses Kano anti-graft agency of defying Court order

Dr Bala Inuwa, the former Managing Director of the Kano State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), has accused the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) of violating a Court order by confiscating his properties worth millions of Naira.

According to Dr. Inuwa, the PCACC, led by Chairman Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, took over his properties, including trailers, fertilizer grinding machines, and other agricultural implements, despite a High Court order restraining them from doing so.

The court order declared the PCACC’s actions as “illegal, unlawful, unconstitutional, and a contravention of the Applicants’ fundamental right to moveable and immoveable properties” guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution.

However, Chairman Rimin Gado dismissed the allegations, claiming that the court orders obtained by Dr Inuwa were secured in default and lacked legal value.

He also stated that the PCACC had invited Dr Inuwa several times but he failed to honor the invitations, leading to the confiscation of the properties.

The development has raised concerns about the PCACC’s adherence to the rule of law and its treatment of individuals and businesses in the state.
