Ex-gov, Daniel, loyalists join APC, declare support for Abiodun’s govt

Loyalists of former governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, on Tuesday, formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The loyalists, under the aegis of Gateway Movement in a communique issued at the end of a meeting in Abeokuta, signed by Daniel’s former deputy governor, Alhaja Salmon Badru, who is the chairperson of the Movement and Deji Kalejaiye as Secretary, said they have resolved to deploy all political machinery to support the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
They, therefore, enjoined the people of the state to declare their maximum support Abiodun in his quest to bring total development to the state.
The Movement which membership cut across the 236 wards in the 20 Local Government Areas of the State said they have dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for APC.
 The communique read thus: “That havingdone our due diligence on the state of our dear state vis-a-vis the resolve and direction of the current administration, hereby declare our unflinching support to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his quest to totally develop Ogun State.
“That we commend His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun on his just, fair, equitable and inclusive efforts so far which basically centres on giving Ogun State a focused and qualitative governance while creating the enabling environment for a public-private sector partnership, which is fundamental to the creation of an enduring economic development and individual prosperity of the people of Ogun.
“That we are determined to deploy all political machinery in our structure to support his administration and ensure maximum delivery of the dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of Ogun State.
” That we appreciate His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel for his support and acceptance to serve as the Grand Patron of the Gateway Movement and indeed the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
” That we hereby enjoin all citizens of Ogun State to give maximum support to Prince Dapo Abiodun as he leads the state to greater heights.

“That this meeting serves as the official declaration of former PDP and other political parties’ members for the APC.”
