Ex-Gov Amosun’s aide hails Asefon’s appointment as Tinubu’s SSA

The appointment of former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon, as the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Students Engagements has been described as a round peg in a round hole.

According to a statement on Saturday, a Special Assistant on Students Affairs to former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Olusegun Clement, said Tinubu made the right choice in choosing Asefon as the man to interact with Nigerian students on his behalf.

According to Clement, Asefon’s antecedents as the immediate past NANS president are a testimony that he would deliver on his mandate.

The student leader assured Tinubu that students across the nation would do everything to support his government henceforth.

“This development has rekindled the trust of the Nigerian students and youths in the government of Mr Tinubu. This move to us, is a testament that Mr President understands the principles of ‘putting a round peg in a round hole.’

“Not just his achievements while in office as the president of NANS but his person whom I have known for years, will make me quickly align with the president that Mr Asefon will deliver on his new appointment.

“I and other students leaders in Nigeria particularly in the South-West region, however, express our joy to the president, assuring that our structures across the country will do everything possible to support your government henceforth,” the statement read.
