Ex-CDS Ola Ibrahim loses wife

Aminat Ibrahim, the wife of former Chief of Defence Staff and ex-Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, has passed away.

She died in Abuja on Tuesday night, November 5, 2024, after a brief illness.

Admiral Ibrahim, who served as Chief of Naval Staff from 2010 to 2012 and as Chief of Defence Staff from 2012 to 2014, is now grieving the loss of his wife. Aminat’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Alumni Association of the National Defence College (AANDEC) confirmed her death in a statement on Wednesday, offering condolences to Admiral Ibrahim and his family.

The statement read:
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajuun. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Aminat Dupe Ibrahim, wife of Admiral OS Ibrahim, former CNS and CDS. According to the family, she passed away on the night of November 5, 2024, after a brief illness.

“She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. The Janazah (funeral) prayers will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, November 6, 2024, at the National Mosque, Abuja, followed by burial at Gudu Muslim Cemetery in Apo, Abuja.

“We ask the AANDEC Community, veterans, and others to support Admiral Ibrahim and his family during this difficult time of mourning.

“May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al Jannah Firdaus. May He also grant the Admiral the strength to endure this great loss.”
