The former Minister of Aviation under President Goodluck Jonathan, Osita Chidoka, has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this disclosure during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.
The former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stated that he is stepping away from politics to dedicate his efforts to the Athena Centre, a non-profit organization he founded, aimed at collaborating with fellow Nigerians who are committed to reforming Nigeria’s political system.
He said, “I sent a letter to my ward in Anambra State resigning officially from the PDP. I am leaving the PDP, I am leaving politics for some time, I am focusing on the Athena Centre,” Chidoka said on the programme.
“I will work in concert with other Nigerians who want us to reform the political system to bring evidence-based governance and to support it. So, effective, I am no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
