Ex-APC UK Chair, Ideawor urges Nigerians to frown at corruption, participate politically

The immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom, Dr Phillip Ideawor, has urged Nigerians to frown at the issue of corruption and stop being apolitical.

While speaking to the Tribune Online yesterday, Ideawor stated that this is very important if Nigeria must experience a transformational change.

He said that any society that neglects its politics will only keep dancing in one spot, and that is what we are faced with in Nigeria.

Dr Phillip noted that the Nigerian good people neglected politics, and a lot of those who should not be political leaders in Nigeria took advantage of that space and became political leaders in Nigeria.

“We must all decide that we will frown at the issue of corruption. I cannot frown at corruption, and you enjoy it. The biggest challenge facing Nigeria is corruption.

“Nigerians need to begin to look at their future from a very different lens. I am saying that if Nigeria must become what it should be, Nigerians must decide that those things must change.

“Any society that neglects its politics will only keep dancing in one spot, and that is what we are faced with in Nigeria.

“The Nigerian good people neglected politics, and a lot of those who should not be political leaders in Nigeria took advantage of that space, and they have become political leaders in Nigeria.

“And they have soiled the environment so badly that for you to now get into the place if you have any good intentions for Nigeria, it becomes mission impossible.

“As long as we continue to hold to our present structure, Nigeria cannot move forward,” He said.
