Ex-Amosun’s deputy, Adesegun, joins Ogun governorship race

The former deputy governor of Ogun State,  Prince Segun Adesegun, has joined the league of aspirants eyeing the coveted governorship seat in the forthcoming general elections.
Adesegun, who deputised the incumbent governor of the State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the last administration, said he decided to contest in making Ogun State people dream of a better and greater state, among the comity of states in the federation, a reality.
The former deputy governor who had equally served the state at various times noted that the State need an experienced politician to administer it for purposeful development.
He said this while briefing newsmen on Friday, at the Iwe-Irohin House, NUJ secretariat, Abeokuta, on Friday, that he would build on the achievements of his predecessor in office.
Adesegun submitted that his government if elected into office, would invest in the people of the State by providing massive investment in agriculture and rural infrastructure.
He promised to achieve his dreams for the state by abiding with the manifesto and Article 7:7  of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which promotes social, political, economic freedom in ensuring peace, freedom and dignity of labour.
“Our State, Ogun, deserves the best and having been involved at all levels, I cannot pretend not to know our problems from far Imeko Afon Local Government to Ijebu Waterside Local Government or from Ipokia Local Government to Odeda Local Government.
“I, therefore can on indigenes of Ogun State, friends and well-wishers, colleagues to register for the forthcoming election to support and assist me in making Ogun State of our dream a reality,” he added.
