United States-based fast rising Nigerian prolific artiste and songwriter, Evans Osuya, popularly known as Evans PD, has debuted his official single entitled: ‘Boogie Down’.
Lagos-born Evans PD, over a decade, has been instrumental to the success of highly rated artistes in Nigeria and beyond, which confirms his deep knowledge of the music industry and versatility. But he feels it is high time he showcased his creative talent in singing, having been successful as a prolific songwriter.
The song entitled ‘Boogie Down’, produced by Skitter, featuring AB1, is scheduled to be released on various streaming platforms such as Apple music, Spotify, and others, on Tuesday, April 19. The song is about the famous Jamaican dance routine “Duty Whine” but Evans decided to add a little bit of love and adoration to the world’s greatest asset “women”.
Speaking about the inspiration been hind the new song, he said the inspiration came alive during his trip to Jamaica, adding “Boogie down was inspired by my trip to Jamaica, I liked the music and decided to mix it up with a little bit of Afro and dancehall.”
For him, working with the choice of Ab1 was great based on the fact that Ab1 is an experienced and talented artiste. “I decided to feature AB1 because he is very good at what he does and he has great experience. Fortunately, he was in the studio when I was with the producer cooking the hit. So he decided to jump on it because he liked the way it sounded and also he liked the melody I gave it,” he said.
