Renowned media personality and politician, Dele Momodu, has vehemently condemned the attempts to ethnicise the #EndBadGovernance protest, describing it as “disingenuous”.
Reacting to a screenshot via his verified X handle on Friday, Momodu emphasised that the protest is a collective cry against bad governance and should not be reduced to ethnic agendas.
He stressed that the movement is about demanding good governance, accountability, and better living conditions for all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnicity.
“This unfortunate conspiracy theory was forwarded to me this morning by a Tinubu apologist.
“Here’s my response: “It is all a cheap blackmail. The people are hungry while government is living large.
The Igbo are largely traders. They look after their own globally. Nobody instigated anyone or anything.
“You guys should accept the reality that Tinubu has not done very well. Leave the Igbo out of your excuses. To ethnicise the protests is to be disingenuous”,” he wrote.

Momodu’s comments come amid growing concerns that some individuals are trying to hijack the protest and give it an ethnic tone, which could undermine its purpose and unity.
