The politician stated this during a chat with Saturday Tribune immediately after an interactive session with the executives of the party in Dukku Local Government Area saying that with the new vigour at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), voters were now more aware that they had the power to elect the candidates of their choice.
Habu Muazu declared that, “The recent Senatorial by-election conducted in Osun State clearly demonstrates that party leaders can no longer impose unpopular candidates on the electorate. Therefore, party elders, executives and the delegates should allow prospective candidates to emerge through popular will,”
The politician who was in Dukku for a stakeholders meeting with party executives at the ward level in furtherance of his aspiration, commended the officials for their commitment in spite of challenges facing them being in opposition in the state.
While urging party members to always vote for a credible candidate of the party during future elections in the state expressed confidence that he the APC would emerge victorious during the election in the state.
