Elder Degun who recently clocked 80 has been instrumental to the education of scores of young people, whose dreams would still have remained in the intangible realms had it not been for this man.
These youth drawn from his local church, hometown and the Degun dynasty are full of appreciation for his life.
Indeed, youth restiveness can be curbed if more privileged Nigerians sponsored youth education.
Elder Emmanuel Adeoye Degun was born on February 8, 1938 to Pastor Isaiah Adebowale Degun and Mama Abigail Olawunmi Degun (nee Ifebogun) both of blessed memory. He is the fifth of eight children.
He attended St. Paul’s Primary School Breadfruits and National High School Ebute meta Lagos for his Secondary education. He obtained Diploma in salesmanship, after which he started his career in 1962 with Niger Motors where he worked for 5yrs.
He became a dealer with Total Nigeria PLC, Michelin and Dunlop Tyres where he won many awards.
Pa E.A Degun is happily married to Evang. Rhoda Monisola Degun and the union is blessed with three sons and three daughters.
God made his quiver full by blessing him with sons and daughters-in-law and many grandchildren.
In his social circle, “Oyinbo Elepo” as he is fondly called, is a great lover of sports. He enjoys playing lawn tennis, table tennis and ludo. He is an active member of Ibadan Recreation Club and an old member of Ibadan Tennis Club.
Elder E.A Degun is a devoted Christian, and was ordained an Elder in 1986 at C.A.C Oke Ibukun, Oke Ado Ibadan where he still fellowships till date. He is a committed member of Itesiwaju Society of the church and has served in different capacities.
We wish him a Happy 80th birthday, and pray that he lives the rest of his life here on earth in sound health.
