Ensure you fulfill your campaign promises, Olota tells Akinlade

PARAMOUNT ruler of Awori land, Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, has called on the gubernatorial candidate of Allied People’s Movement (APM), in Ogun state, Honourable Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade to ensure he fulfils all his campaign promises when he eventually becomes the governor of the state.

The traditional ruler made the call on Wednesday at his palace in Ota, when he played host to Akinlade and his campaign team. He noted that it became imperative for Akinlade to ensure the fulfilment of his campaign promises to the people of Ogun state particularly in Ogun West senatorial district where he hails from.

“It would gladden my heart if you become the governor and I will be referred to as governor’s father. I, therefore, invoke the spirit of our fathers in Awori land that all your wishes will come to pass. Do not forget that your wishes will become reality on the condition that you have the intention to fulfil all your campaign promises when you become governor.”

In his remarks, Honourable Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade thanked the traditional ruler for the opportunity he gave him and his team to host them in his palace. He, however, urged him to support him in his quest to become the governor of Ogun state on March 2, 2019.

Akinlade further stated that: “I will keep to my promises as we have discussed and It will also be a thing of joy for me to call you by phone on March 2, 2019, to inform you that I have been elected the 5th executive governor of Ogun state.

“It will also be more joyful that it will be on record that it was during your reign as Olota of Ota that Ogun West produced a governor in Ogun state.”
