An engineer attached to Ido/Osi Local Government of Ekiti State, Mr Kunle Enisan has been found murdered in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, barely 24 hours after the murder of Mr Idowu Taiwo, the Ekiti Police Command paymaster.
Enisan, father of two, who was in his early 40s, was said to have been killed around 8.15pm on Monday night, at Housing Estate, Afao road.
The deceased’s in-law, Mr. Adeoye Aribasoye, told newsmen on the telephone, on Tuesday, that the victim was returning home with his wife in his car and had stopped on the way.
According to him, his wife had gone home and had left her husband at the stopover, and had expected him to join her later.
Aribasoye said: “When it was 9:00pm, the wife became agitated because the deceased didn’t keep late night, and she started looking for him. A few meters from home, she and the search party saw his car parked few metres away from their home and the doors were left open.
“But because of fear, they could not see him on the ground on the other side of the car. They later came and saw his body beside where his car was parked.”
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti Command, Mr Alberto Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying the detectives were already on the trail of the murderers.
In a related development, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, has ordered a stop and search operation in all major highways in Ekiti State.
The operation is effective in Ado Ekiti, while similar operation was going on in all other divisions across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Inalegwu said no arrest had been made in connection with the murder of the police paymaster, and said the stop and search was part of the operations to make Ekiti free of crime during the Yuletide.
