Energy expert appointed ECOWAS youth ambassador

A Nigeria-based renewable energy expert, Emmanuel Dahunsi, has been honored with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity and appointed as ECOWAS Youth Ambassador by the West African Youth Council (WAYC).

The Nelson Mandela Leadership Award, named after the legendary South African leader, recognizes individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities and a commitment to integrity and social justice. The award ceremony, held recently at the University of Ibadan, is a testament to Dahunsi’s tireless efforts in supporting young people.

The West African Youth Council (WAYC), headquartered in Cape Verde, provides a platform for youth participation in politics, socio-economic activities, and governance in West Africa. WAYC’s objective is to promote youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and leadership development in the region.
