#EndBadGovernance: Security operatives clear miscreants off Abuja roads

Unlike on Thursday when the ongoing protest against economic hardship currently rocking the country started slowly but much later in the day turned violent, there were no notable incidents of violence on day two of the protest in the nation’s capital, Abuja, as it appears normalcy is gradually coming back to the city.

It be recalled that on the first day of the protest, motorists and residents witnessed harassment and extortion by miscreants in places like Nyanya, Karu, Jikwoyi, Kurudu as well as Karshi axis, the same thing happened in Kubwa, Dei-Dei, Dutse, Dawaki, Gwarimpa, on Lugbe area leading to the airport miscreants erected toll gates harassing motorists, leading to fire exchange between police operatives and the miscreants.

However, Police dispersed protesters at the popular Berger Roundabout in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, on Friday when they noticed that the protesters were gathering in their numbers on the second day of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests against hardship and hunger.

The capital was, however, deserted as vast majority of the residents stayed at home, vehicular and human traffic was very scanty.

Protesters went to the Moshood Abiola Stadium but not in great numbers like on day one of the protest, they, however, conducted themselves orderly under the watchful eyes of security agencies.

The security around the villa remained heightened with fully kitted soldiers mounting all gates leading to the seat of power.
