THE Olubaka of Okaland, in Ondo State, Oba Yusuf Adeleye, has advised children to copy the example of Prophet Ismail whose submission to the will of Allah and obedience to his father, Prophet Ibrahim, has become a reference point to humanity as symbolised by the celebration of the festival of sacrifice (Eid al-Adha).
Oba Adeleye, who gave the advice in an Eid el-Kabir message, urged Muslims and non-Muslims alike to imbibe the virtues of obedience, honesty and loyalty to constituted authorities as a way of moving the country forward.
The traditional commended the Ondo State governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, for making live meaningful for the people of the state, particularly through the provision of infrastructure and regular payment of salaries and pensions.
In the same vein, the National Organising Secretary of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani, urged Muslims to celebrate Eid al-Adha moderately, considering the state of the country’s economy.
Kilani, in his Sallah message, urged well-to-do Nigerians to be benevolent towards the underprivileged and the needy in the society so as to make them happy during the festivities.
Kilani, a former member of the National Technical Committee on Hajj, commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for what he called the smooth manner in which pilgrims were airlifted to Saudi Arabia and urged the commission to do even better with the return flights.
