THE Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has urged the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to borrow a leaf from the Nigeria Customs Service by organ- ising training for clearing agents.
In a statement signed by its national president,m Frank Ogunojemite, the association commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adawale Adeniyi, for approving a five-day administrative and operational awareness training programme for declarants (agents).
The statement read, “We wish to commend the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service for approving a five-day administrative and operational awareness training programme for declarants (agents).
“The well attended workshop, which held at Customs Training College, Ikeja, from March 11 to 15, was a huge success.
“According to the Nigeria Customs Service, the training of declarants (agents) was targeted at providing comprehensive insight and guidance on the emerging administrative and operational trends in the Customs clearance process.
“APFFLON wishes to state that the workshop was a proof of the Comptroller-General’s commit- ment to human capital devel- opment. We thank the CG for approving the training and also thank every freight forwarder that participated in the programme as well.”
