EMUfest 2017’ll showcase young folk music stars —Beautiful Nubia

The 8th annual Eni Obanke Music Festival – EMUfest 2017 scheduled to hold on November 3 to12 with concerts across four cities in South-West, according to the organisers will promote the folk music genre, as well as its rising stars.

The festival which has over the years, featured several heavy hitters and music legends such as Orlando Julius Ekemode, Jimi Solanke and Chris Ajilo, will this year be headlined by the host and convener, Segun Akinlolu, Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band, alongside fast-rising contemporary folk musicians including Femi Ajayi (a.k.a Sequential), Seyi Ajayi and the Black Radiance band, Mr Hat and The Quolibet band, Jojo Bodybeats, Maestroy and the Folklore band, Asoge.

The week-long festival will commence on November 3, in Osogbo, at Leisure Spring Hotel, Bolanle, Osun State. and move to Abeokuta to thrill fans at Quantum Lounge, NLC Secretariat, Leme, Abeokuta, Ogun State on November 10.

The third city, , is Ibadan, where it will also feature a novelty football match between the Eni Obanke team and Music Department students at the University of Ibadan, on November 11, while  the music concert would  hold later in the event at Alliance Francaise, Iyaganku.

The grand finale will hold in Lagos on November 12 with fun seekers and lovers of folktale music converging on at 26 Sobo Arobiodu Street, GRA Ikeja, 6pm to feel the vibes of folk artistes.

Speaking with R, Beautiful Nubia noted that all is set to dazzle people again, especially the youths across the  country.

“We are glad to hold another music concert tagged EMUfest2017. It is our delight that this festival is living up to its expectations and it is really impacting peoples’ lives positively. It is an avenue to entertain ourselves and at the same time share love among one another. I look forward to memorable events across all the outlined cities. It is also my joy to showcase rising stars of the genre of music as part of my efforts to promote the genre of music in Nigeria,” he stated.
