Hajiya Habiba Shehu Idris, the mother-in-law of the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has passed away.
She was the first wife of the immediate past Emir of Zazzau, Dr. Shehu Idris. Hajiya Habiba died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.
A statement from Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, Media and Publicity Officer to the emirate, confirmed her death.
She is survived by her children, including Alhaji Bello Shehu Idris, the Dan Ruwata Babban Zazzau; Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris, Assistant Secretary to the emirate and the Dan Isan Zazzau; and Hajiya Maryam Shehu Idris, the wife of the current Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
The funeral prayer for Hajiya Habiba is scheduled to take place at the Emir’s palace shortly after Juma’at prayers.
