Emir of Minna confers traditional title on PDP chieftain, Saba

The Emir of Minna and Chairman, Minna Emirate Council, Alhaji Umaru Faruq Bahago has directed that the traditional title of Baiwan Minna be conferred on a former State Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Hassan Saba.

The monarch stated this in a statement issued by the Secretary of Minna Emirate Council, Alhaji Garuba Musa Kuta,( the Magajin Garin Minna) and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Minna, highlighting that as the Baiwan Minna, Saba is expected to exhibit a high sense of responsibility, personal integrity and decorum which are the hallmark of worthy and tested leaders.

According to the statement, “By the conferment of this title on you, it is further expected that your loyalty to the traditional institution, especially the Minna Emirate Council must be unalloyed. You are also expected to strive hard and help in the realisation of the council’s objectives of fostering peace, unity and progress of the Emirate.”

The statement emphasised that “while congratulating you and wishing you well it has become necessary to emphasise the need for you to not only support and participate fully in all activities but functions organized by the Emirate Council but remain loyal to His Highness, needless to say, you will work in harmony with other title holders.

“Furthermore it is important that you accept this conferment in writing and within one month of the receipt of this letter to enable us to complete the documentation of your title conferment. Accept my best wishes and high regards on behalf of His Highness and Minna Emirate Council.”
