Emir of Kano sacks 2 traditional rulers over extortion

EMIR of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has dethroned two traditional rulers,  the village head of Hungu, Ibrahim Shehu, and the ward head of Zangwan, Galal Nadabo Adamu, for alleged extortion.

The emir, who was not happy after receiving an investigation report on the alleged offence from the District Head of Albasu, Alhaji Bashir Albasu, Katikan Kano, at the palace, took the decision to sack the duo.

He, however, warned the traditional title holders to desist from any act capable of smearing the image of the Kano Emirate Council and the tradition.

The outcome of the investigation revealed that the two traditional title holders were allegedly involved in a syndicated case with a police inspector, Umaru Abubakar, for collecting more than N50,000 from the mother of an accused, Hauwa Sule, in Albasu Local Government Area of the state.

It was also revealed that  a sum of  N33,000 had been collected out of the N50,000 from the mother of the suspect, Yusuf Sule, of Hungun Village of Albasu LGA.
