Embrace love, shun corruption, Cleric charges govt officials

Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church, Reverend Mother, Esther Abimbola Ajayi, popularly known as Iya Aladura, has prescribed love for country and humanity as the panacea to solve the problem of corruption that eats into public funds.

She charged public officials to allow their commitments to the country to override their interests as they carry out their respective mandates to build the nation.

She said, “With love you cannot miss it. If you love the people you are ruling the money that is meant for everybody, you won’t stash it away somewhere.”

According to her, “If you love your neighbour, you won’t use them for ritual, you won’t kidnap them. With love, you can’t miss it. Keep loving.”

Iya Aladura said this while speaking with journalists in Abuja after a rally around the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

She said when public officials allow the love for one another to guide their activities in office, services would improve for all Nigerians and the population would get full benefit of the national welfare programmes.

Iya Aladura, who stated this after the rally to create awareness of the planned celebration of the unity of the Holy Ghost and celebrating the comforter scheduled to hold on the 20th at the national stadium Abuja, said Nigerians should allow love to lead them in all things.

She expressed her confidence in Nigerians to smile under the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that he is courageous to take decisions that would benefit the nation in the long run.

She said that the tough times being faced by Nigerians today call for an all-round intervention, where all Nigerians should extend love to one another as this would ease the pressure of life that confronts the public.

“I am not a politician. However, I can say that there is something about Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I have been saying this. He is a bold person. He is a courageous person. It might take a little bit of time before we can begin to see the effect of the efforts his administration is making.

“Mark you, it’s going to happen. And us coming at this time, the Lord is talking to us spiritually.

“Nigeria is going to be great again as the good Lord lives. He’s going to touch the source of our economy. And he will turn it around for the best.”

She enjoined the rich to extend some benevolence to the less privileged as the country moved onward

“If you have that money, with love you will give the less privileged.”
