Elon Musk
Billionaire X owner and father of 11 children, Elon Musk, is reportedly making arrangements to move his large, blended family into a group of three mansions in Austin, Texas.
The unusual living arrangement, which places two of the homes near Musk’s residence, has drawn widespread attention and sparked comparisons to cult-like communities.
According to a report by The New York Times, Musk intends for two of his children’s three mothers to live in the nearby properties, which are about a ten-minute walk from his mansion.
The first of these women, Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink and mother to three of his children, is said to have already moved in. Meanwhile, Claire Boucher, also known as Grimes, the mother of three of Musk’s children, is unlikely to join the compound due to ongoing custody disputes.
Musk’s first wife, Justine Musk, who shares five children with him, has yet to confirm whether she will accept his invitation to move into the estate.
The billionaire’s fascination with reproduction has been a recurring theme in his public life and has often cited declining global fertility rates as a threat to humanity’s future.
His personal mission to have as many children as possible has resulted in various controversies, including reports that he once offered his sperm to friends and colleagues to further his aim of spreading his genes.
The properties, which Musk reportedly acquired for $35 million, are in an ungated area of Austin, an unusual choice for someone of his wealth. This move has drawn comparisons to previous eccentric undertakings by Musk, such as an abandoned project to build a “glass house” using Tesla resources, which led to an investigation by the Justice Department.
Some have raised concerns about Musk’s increasingly erratic behaviour, with social media users likening his actions to those of David Koresh, the infamous leader of the Branch Davidians involved in the Waco Massacre.
Further complicating Musk’s family dynamic is his strained relationship with his eldest daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, who is unlikely to join the compound. In an interview with NBC News earlier this year, Wilson detailed her difficult relationship with Musk, who later dismissed her in a tweet, alleging she had been “killed by the woke mind virus.”
With his unpredictable tendencies and vast wealth, how far Musk’s vision for his family compound will go remains to be seen. However, given his relentless focus on reproduction, more surprises could be coming.
