Elizade varsity founder, Ade-Ojo, advocates entrepreneurial skills for graduates

Published by

THE founder of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, has stressed the need for every graduate to be equipped with basic entrepreneurial skills while in school.

Ade-Ojo, who stated this at the weekend during the maiden convocation of the university in Ilara-Mokin, noted that the training would enhance the production of future leaders that could easily be employers of labour.

He, however, charged the graduands that “it is true you have finished your course here but let me quickly remind you that you are also starting another school, the school of experience, from which nobody ever graduates, but which however breeds successes and failures alike.

“Do not waste time, start doing something immediately. Do not stay at home, go out and find something to do. If you can fly, fly; if you cannot fly, run; and if you cannot run, walk; and if you cannot walk, crawl; but don’t stay at a point.

Speaking on the success of the school in producing future employers of labour, he said: “In actual fact, some of our students have already established their own outfits and this has provided motivation for other students who are still in school. I am promising now to provide all the necessary support to make them soar higher whenever they call for my support.”

Meanwhile, the acting Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Theophilus Fadayomi, affirmed that the institution had impacted relevant knowledge and skills on the students.

The state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, also admonished youths across the country to be innovative and creative, to surmount unemployment in the country

Akeredolu urged graduands to be determined as they journey into the labour market.
