Elekole lauds Ekiti gov, calls for more development projects

THE Elekole of Ikole and the Paramount Ruler of Egbeoba kingdom of Ekiti State, Oba Ajibade Adewumi Fasiku, has thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for the development projects in the community and called for more government presence in the area.

Oba Fasiku spoke in his palace when he received one of his subjects and the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Barrister Gboyega Oguntuase, who was in his palace on a courtesy visit.

Oba Fasiku, who formally welcomed Oguntuase and his entourage through the Sajowa of Ikole, thanked the state government for the dualisation of the Ikole roads, but also called for more development projects in the community.

The monarch also said the officials of the local government needed to do more by making their presence felt in the local government, but commended the chairman of the council, Mr. Adeyanju Adeyeye for what he said were his efforts in the council.

Oba Fasiku, while addressing the visitors, said the party in power in the state could do more for Ikole by increasing its political stake in the state.

According to Oba Fasiku, Ikole-Ekiti has 24 communities and therefore, is  the largest in Ekiti North district, saying, “we want more from your party.”

He commended Oguntuase for deeming it fit to pay a courtesy visit to his traditional ruler and charged the people to support him as their own for the success of a son of Ikole-Ekiti in office.

According to him, Oguntuase had a good pedigree and would not disappoint the community as his father also made contributions to the development of the community.
