Elections: 66 Fulani leaders, 1000 Fulanis defect to APC from PDP in Sokoto

The League of sixty six Fulani Leaders ( Ardos and Magajis), alongside one thousand other Fulanis  from Silame,  Wamakko, Tangaza,  Gudu,  Yabo, Shagari, Binji and Tureta  Local Governments in Sokoto State,  on Wednesday  defected to the All Progressives Congress  ( APC ), from the Peoples Democratic Party  ( PDP ).
According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  Bashir Rabe Mani and issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Thursday.
The State Chairman, APC Fulanis Nationwide, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu revealed that they left their former party sequel to their recurring neglect by the leaders of the PDP.
Alhaji Shehu Aliyu also lamented that the Fulanis were currently being plagued by the dearth of adequate grazing reserves, cattle routes and water points, which he noted, were the basic needs of the Fulani herdsmen.
According to him, the leaders and their followers have resolved to pitch their camps with the APC,  as well as assiduously work to ensure the success of its candidates during the forthcoming Gubernatorial and State Assembly polls.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC Elders Committee,  Alhaji Aminu Tambari Tafida, pledged that the Fulanis would be provided with their basic needs if Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and Faruku Malami Yabo are elected,  In sha Allahu.
The State Chairman of the party,  Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida,  also called on the Funalis, statewide, to troop to the polling stations on Saturday, to massively elect the party’s candidates.
Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida promised that the APC -led state government would accord top priority to all the basic needs of the Fulanis and their livestock.
