Election: Don’t leave politics for old politicians, Charley boy tasks youths

Published by

AN ace musician and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, on Monday, admonished Nigerian youths not to leave politics in the hand of old politicians.

Charly boy, who made this known in Abuja, while addressing newsmen, said the country could only make significant progress when youths were fully in charge of mantle of leadership, describing them as the only hope of the nation’s salvation.

According to him, a lot has gone wrong with the system and almost all young Nigerians and the masses have found themselves in a very hopeless situation.

Oputa said the purpose of the conference was to engage and interface with young Nigerians in order to galvanize them on their civic responsibilities.

He, therefore, called on youths, especially eligible voters to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and not to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the two parties have failed Nigeria.

Earlier in his remarks, Comrade Chukwu Merije urged Nigerian youths to vote any other option apart from APC and PDP and get Nigeria out of its bad stage where poverty was rising on daily basis.
