Hadiza el-Rufai
WIFE of Kaduna State governor, Hadiza el-Rufai, has called on women to serve as role models to younger generation of females.
She made the appeal on Friday, while fielding questions from journalists after featuring on a panel discussion at the African Women in the Media Conference, tagged #AWIM18, held at the Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
The event was put together by Dr Yemisi Akinbobola, who said the programme was the reality of her vision in response to her search for a supportive network for women working in the media industry.

“We have to change the perception of women to aspire to greater heights and serve as role models. As writers, we need to write to inspire ladies to be whoever they want to be,” she said.
El-Rufai was on the panelist discussion as a poet and author of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, Lola Shoneyin; film maker, Kunle Afolayan, and anchored by Assistant Director, Programmes, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Lagos operation, Funke-Treasure Durodola.
