The 21-year-old mini bus (popularly known as “akoto”) driver had allegedly raped the student on September 17 when she was said to be returning from where she went to receive treatment for malaria.
Ojolo had allegedly committed the crime at about 8.00 pm on the fateful day while conveying the victim from the hospital and she happened to be the only passenger left in the bus during the journey.
The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Alberto Adeyemi, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, explained that he had turned himself in to the palace of the Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, who handed him over to the police.
Adeyemi said the monarch had subsequently handed him over to the police.
