Ekiti Oba’s killing: Traditional council renew call for better security at palaces

The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has called on the security agencies in the state, especially the police command to improve security at their palaces, with a view to forestalling a future occurrence of the killing of a monarch in his palace recently.
The traditional council, in a statement at the end of its 210th statutory meeting, decried the killing of the Onise of Odo Oro in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Gbadebo Ibiloye Ogunsakin, on August 20th, 2018 in his palace, by a man who stabbed him.
In the statement signed by the Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju, the council said: “traditional rulers in the state commiserate with the family of the monarch and the entire indigenes of Odo Oro community.”
While expressing the sadness of the members of the council to the incident, Oba Ademolaju said the council “implored the state Commissioner of Police to put all machine rise in motion in ensuring that all the culprits commented to this heinous crime are apprehended.”
