Ekiti govt pledges more support for entrepreneurs

The Ekiti State Government has reiterated its commitment to continually support and encourage business owners in the state to grow and expand their businesses.

The Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the government would not relent in its efforts to provide financial support, an enabling environment, and incentives for businesses to grow because of their positive impact on the state’s economy.

Olatunbosun spoke at the second edition of the Eventpreneurs Summit organised by Smyln tribe events held in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.

He said that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration had put in place a series of programmes and initiatives to support the growth and survival of micro, small, and medium-scale businesses in the state.

Acknowledging business owners as the key contributors to the state’s economic growth and wealth creation, Olatunbosun said that the government would continue to provide more innovative opportunities for improved productivity.

The Commissioner said, “The road map of the present government is towards a shared prosperity that will ensure every Ekiti citizen lives and sustains themselves in their respective vocations.

“The governor is in support of this initiative, and you will know that the government launched an MSME clinic for business owners to have access to facilities. There are a lot of opportunities that you can use to expand your business, like SMEDAN and others.

“The government will continue to provide ease of business and an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. The government will also patronise the business owners to encourage you and grow the state’s economy.”

He lauded the convener of the summit, Mrs Adebimpe Eweje, for organising the programme, saying the initiative was in consonance with Governor Oyebanji’s shared prosperity agenda.

He called on the participants to utilise the platform provided by the summit to build robust business connections and broaden their knowledge on how to grow their brand in the events industry.

The convener, Mrs Eweje, said that the summit was primarily organised for various vendors in the event industry, including event planners, caterers, event decorators, and traditional alagas.

Eweje added that the event was aimed at exposing the eventpreneurs in the state to modern practices and innovation so as to remain relevant in the dynamic and evolving event industry.

She noted that the summit had become a veritable hub, shaping the future of young individuals in the industry and building strong networking for robust business connections.
