The Ekiti State Government has disbursed the sum of N100 million to 105 beneficiaries of medical financial assistance initiated by the state government.
Distributing the checks, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani, disclosed that the 105 beneficiaries received support from the government for the treatment of various medical conditions.
Filani hinted that the beneficiaries received support from the government on various kinds of medical conditions, such as kidney and cancer treatment, appendectomy and cataract surgeries, and fibrin removals.
The Commissioner said that the assistance covered those who are currently undergoing treatment or about to undergo treatment and persons with specific treatments that are available within the state or outside the state.
While appreciating Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for approving the disbursement and for always being on the side of the masses, the commissioner urged the beneficiaries to remain optimistic and adhere to instructions from medical personnel to ensure a good and quick recovery.
He reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to all citizens of the state.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, said that the government is aware of the burden of ill health and lack of financial power by many citizens, hence the medical financial assistance to ease the financial burden.
