Ekiti Election: Akeredolu congratulates Fayemi on victory

Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu

ONDO State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has congratulated the newly elected governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on his victory in the last Saturday Governorship election in Ekiti State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi, on behalf of the governor.

Akeredolu attributed Fayemi’s victory to ” sterling record in public service, the tenacity of purpose, exemplary values, stupendous goodwill and abiding grace of God” and welcomes the Governor-elect to a familiar terrain where he will quickly consolidate his legacy of good governance which characterised his first tenure as the Governor of Ekiti State.

While acknowledging the enormity of the task ahead of the new helmsman, Akeredolu expressed optimism that “Fayemi’s rich experience, far-reaching contacts, resourcefulness and robust intellectual capacity would undoubtedly help his iron cast resolve to restore hope in Ekiti State”

Akeredolu also, however, commended the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose and party’s candidate in the election, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka.

Akeredolu described Fayose as a great politician and said ” you have fought a good fight. The result of this election underscores the fact that you are a dogged political strategist.

“We were APC and PDP. Now as brothers and friends, let’s come together to push our avowed agenda for the development of Western Nigeria. Together We Will”.
