The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ayetoro Ekiti ward one, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State has announced the suspension of five members for alleged anti-party activities in the state.

The five persons include Hon. Kayode Aina, Olaiya Olatunji, Olaosebikan Jimoh, Oladunjoye Segun Lawrence and Bashorun Dare Owotomobi.

The party ward chairman, Mr Yinka Ajewole who spoke with newsmen on the development explained that “it has been brought to the attention of the party executive that these persons have not refrained from their chosen path of misconduct and inflexibility against the orderly conduct of the party.

“We, the entire members of the executive of the APC under my watch as ward chairman, Ayetoro-Ekiti ward one have suspended those five persons from our party and consequently recommended their expulsion over their anti-party activities and other related offences against our party the APC.”

According to him, their suspension was in consonance with the Article 21(D) V of the party’s constitution which he said says: “Any member who files an action in court of law against the party or any of its officers on any matter or matters relating to the discharge of the duties of the party without first exhausting the avenue for redress provided in this constitution shall automatically stand expelled from the party on filling such action and no appeal against expulsion as stipulated in the clause shall be entertained until the withdrawal of the action from court by the member.

“The said members remained suspended as their actions and conduct does not represent the APC blueprint and what the governor of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi stands for, those party members mentioned remained suspended because of their incurable anti-party activities.”

Ajewole who presented copies of their suspension and expulsion letters duly signed by the other twenty-five members of his executive to newsmen also explained that the suspended members of the party must not be seen participating in any of the party activities neither can they represent the party interest anywhere in the state.

He said their anti-party activities are being sponsored by a rival political party against the APC and their open denunciation of the APC and its chairmanship candidate ahead of the December 7 local government election.
