Ekiti APC replies Fayose over comment on party’s crisis

Published by

Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has described former governor of the state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose as someone who is seeking attention over his comments on the leadership crisis rocking the ruling party in the country.

Fayose had on Friday said the current crisis in the APC was a manifestation of God’s anger against the party for the manner it had ruled the country since 2015, saying there would not be peace until the party collapsed.

But in a statement on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital the Director of Media and Publicity Ekiti APC, Mr. Sam Oluwalana said the PDP chieftain has been allegedly moving from one leader of the party to the other across the country to beg for favour.

Oluwalana pointed out that during the four years of Fayose as governor in the state, “he was the executive, legislature and judiciary, as he crippled the other arms from performing their functions.”

The statement read, “It is on record that the mace of the assembly, which is the authority of the legislature was kept at the government house, while the lawmakers would have to seek permission from Fayose before convening any sitting and he is now shouting that there is no democracy in APC.

“It was during his regime that the minority members of the assembly impeached a Speaker while vocal members were railroaded into indefinite suspension until they succumbed to his whims.

“The people of the state will not quickly forget how Fayose administration equally crippled the functions of the judiciary, while his Attorney General was always privy to any judgement to be delivered by Judges.

“He has succeeded in disintegrating his party, PDP, leading to the national excos imposing foreigners to administer the party as caretakers.”

Oluwalana advised the former governor to concentrate on rebuilding his party that has been polarized rather than seeking to destabilize the ruling APC.
