Ekiti 2026: Fayose visits Segun Oni, seeks support for governorship ambition

Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has solicited the support of a former governor of the state, Chief Segun Oni, for his governorship ambition.

Fayose, who is the younger brother of former governor Ayodele Fayose, visited Oni at his residence in Ifaki-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area, on Sunday.

According to a statement by his media office, the governorship hopeful engaged the elder statesman on his aspiration and commitment to fostering unity, sustainable development, and progress in Ekiti.

He expressed his desire to build on the legacies of past leaders while charting a new course for inclusive governance in the state.
