Supporters of the 33 governorship aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igede-Ekiti, headquarters of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, have resolved to work together to ensure victory for the APC in the July 14 election in the state.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ parley convened in the community by a chieftain of APC in the state, Deji Adetuberu and attended by all APC stakeholders and supporters from the three wards in Igede Ekiti.
At the meeting, they decried last Friday’s shooting at the party’s rally in Ado Ekiti and prayed for the quick recovery of Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele and the others injured in the incident.

According to a statement made available to newsmen after the meeting, Adetuberu, who spoke on behalf of the forum, said the parley was organised to bring all and sundry together, adding that it became imperative in view of a large number of aspirants that participated at the APC primary election.
He said: “Expectedly, the polarisation of the party was inevitable, hence the need to bring everyone together again in the interest of the party and the generality of Ekiti people who are desirous of good governance.
“Ekiti people are so desirous of good governance that will be a clear departure from the present comic, deceit and maladministration. And the only alternative we have now is APC and Dr Kayode Fayemi.
“Therefore, the coming together of everyone to work in unison will do a lot of good for Ekiti people than bad especially at enthroning a good governance in the state.”
