EKEDC emerges Disco of the Year 2023

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has emerged as the Distribution Company (Disco) of the year 2023.

This was announced at the maiden edition of Energy Times Awards organised in Lagos.

The recognition is a testament to Eko Disco’s unwavering commitment and dedication to providing a safe, reliable, and constant electricity supply to its customers within its franchise area.

It was pointed out that EKEDC has been a consistent top-performing distribution company coming out top in most of the performance indicators set by the sector’s regulator, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

Reacting to the awards, the General Manager, Corporate Communications of EKEDC, Babatunde Lasaki, dedicated the award to EKEDC customers, saying that the company’s desire to serve the customers better is the bedrock of its performance and pledged the company’s desire for a continuous excellent customer service delivery.

“2023 being the 10th year of our operations, was a remarkable year for us in terms of performance. We went on to break new boundaries and shattered almost all our records, especially with the attainment of a single digit ATC&C, and continue to drive on with the setting of an audacious medium to long-term goals to improve our services to our esteemed customers,” he said.

He noted that “EKEDC has consistently demonstrated a commitment to implementing innovative technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Through strategic investments in infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and community engagement initiatives, he added that EKEDC would continue to set new standards of excellence in the electricity distribution sector.
“It doesn’t stop here! We will continue to invest, ideate, and innovate to bring our services to a point where a one-second blink will be unusual to our customers,” he said.

Lasaki also appreciated the organiser of the awards for their role in bringing unbiased, factual, and timely information about the energy industry to the fore to educate and inform readers.

“Widely acknowledged for its customer-centric approach, EKEDC is a leader in technology, customer experience, and service excellence and boasts of excellent performances in the electricity distribution space as it ranks top of the overall ranking by the electricity market regulator, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC),” Lasaki said.
