Eid-el-Maulud: APC preaches honesty, selflessness, charity

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the country over the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Maulud which celebrates the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

In a statement signed by the APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Sunday, he said the Holy Prophet lived a life that was worthy of emulation.

He urged Muslim faithful and indeed all Nigerians to commit themselves to the virtues of honesty, selflessness, charity, tolerance, justice, equity and fairness which the Holy Prophet preached and exemplified.

Chief Oyegun also urged Nigerians to continue to support the bold efforts of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration in retooling the economy based on a broad spectrum of initiatives. These he hoped would create employment and sundry opportunities that will ultimately lead the country to the path of economic recovery and growth.

He also called on Nigerians to support the administration’s drive to instil a new ethic of morality in the country.

In the statement, the APC national chairman also commiserated with Nigerians who have lost loved ones to recent accidents and activities of insurgents.

“As we celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW), we also commiserate with our brothers and sisters across Nigeria who have suffered misfortunes of losing loved ones to recent accidents and activities of insurgents, particularly Saturday’s church building collapse in Akwa Ibom state and bomb explosions in Adamawa and Borno States which occurred on Friday and Sunday respectively. I wish the injured quick and full recovery,” the APC national chairman said.

He enjoined citizens particularly in the North-East to remain vigilant and security conscious as the insurgents are now limited to attacks on soft targets due to the successes recorded by the administration in the war against terror.
