At least thirty-five Muslims traveling to Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State for Eid-el-Maulud celebration lost their lives in a fatal motor accident.
Sources revealed that the J5 bus they were traveling in collided with an articulated vehicle.
While authorities have yet to officially respond to the incident, one of the Maulud celebration organizers, Malam Abdullahi, told reporters on Monday that the accident had disrupted their plans for the event.

He confirmed that 35 people died in the crash, and around 30 injured victims were taken to a medical facility in neighboring Plateau State, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Additionally, he mentioned that another vehicle in their convoy collided with a motorbike, resulting in further casualties and injuries.
” I did the head count, there were about 70 people including women and children. It was a sad development. We’ve taken the injured to JUTH in Jos for medical attention,” he said.
