Eid-el-Kabir: Seek God’s divine intervention for free, fair, credible poll in Osun, Omisore tasks Muslims

The flag bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the September 22 governorship poll in Osun, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Monday tasked Muslims in Nigeria, most especially in Osun State to use this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration as a period to seek God’s divine intervention for free, fair and credible election.
This was contained in a Sallah message issued by the media team of Omisore, which was forwarded to the Nigerian Tribune in Osogbo.
While congratulating Muslims in the state on this year’s Eid El Kabir celebrations, he charged Muslims across Osun State, specifically Imams and clerics to commit Osun state in the hands of Allah for the election of a sincere and patriotic leader come September 22, this year.
According to the message, “the governorship poll in the state is few weeks ahead, there is the need for the people of the state, particularly the Muslims to seek divine intervention on the need for a free, fair, crisis-free and acceptable governorship election in the state”.
“Let me use this period to congratulate our Muslims leaders, the Imams, Alfas and the entire Muslim fateful for witnessing this year’s Eid El Kabir celebrations. The period, no doubt, is a holy one to move closer to the Almighty Allah and as well seek God’s favour for our dear state most especially on the September, 22 governorship election”.
“Senator Omisore stressed that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir, which is obedience and trust in Allah should continue to be the guiding principles for the people of Osun state at this period of deciding who runs the affairs of the state, in the coming years after the expiration of the tenure of office of the incumbent, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola later this year”.
“As we are fast approaching the governorship election in our dear Osun state, I am again urging our people, particularly the political class to play the game according to the laid down rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the election. On the part of our religious leaders, it is now time for them to be preaching peace and the need for the coming election to be free and fair. “
“Senator Omisore also used the opportunity to reassure the people of Osun of his readiness to change the fortune of the state for better by embarking on people-oriented policies as well as giving priority to the welfare of the civil servants and the entire people of the state if elected as the next governor of Osun state come September, 22 election.
