In order to ensure peace and order during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Oyo State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,200 personnel across the state.
The state Commandant, Dr Michael Adaralewa made this known on Monday while addressing the Corps’ heads of formations at the command headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan, during the weekly assessment of the state of security in their various formations.
In a statement by the state spokeswoman, Oyindamola Okuneye, Commandant Adaralewa said that officers from Special Armed Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit, CBRNE, Anti-Vandals Unit, Operations, Intelligence Department, Disaster Management Unit, Agro Rangers and Female Armed Squad would be deployed for the protection of lives and property of the citizens during the celebration.
According to him, “personnel in the state have been deployed to strategic locations such as recreation centres, Eid praying ground, parks, markets and all critical national assets which will be well protected.”
He admonished the Muslim faithful to celebrate moderately during the Sallah celebration, and also remember to put President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in prayer for a successful tenure.
Wishing all Muslims a happy celebration, Dr Adaralewa enjoined the state residents to feel free during the joyous occasion without any fear.
