The Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar has called on Muslims to make special prayers for God’s intervention in the current security and economic challenges in the country.
This was contained in a press statement issued signed and made available to Tribune Online, by the senior special assistant to the governor on print media, Mr Ahmed Danyaro in Dutse, said the governor appealed to Muslims to pray that Almighty Allah ends the numerous challenges facing the country and further restore unity among the citizenry.
According to the statement, the governor congratulates Muslim brothers and sisters in the state and country for the grace of witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir.
“As we celebrate this important festival, we should not forget the symbolism and lessons of obedience to Allah, sharing of our God-given wealth with the less privileged, being our brother’s keeper and living in peace with our neighbours as enshrined in the tenets of Islamic faith,” he stated.
The statement further stated that “we mark the festivities, let us remember the sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to the will of Allah, and always submit ourselves, fully, to the will of the Almighty and in service of all mankind”.
The governor, therefore, assured citizens of Jigawa of his determination to make the state a model of governance, peace, economic prosperity, agri-business and investors destination in Nigeria.
He added that “Our resolve to make an impact in critical sectors like security, education, health, agriculture, water supply, urban renewal, rural development, massive infrastructures among others remains unshaken”.
Abubakar promised to continue supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration in finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting us. “We will continue with practical steps to impact the lives of our citizens. The commendations we have received from national and global organizations will propel us to do more.”
