The Anti-Corruption Research and Data-Based Initiative (ARDI), an NGO, has charged Muslims to use the Sallah period to pray for peace in the nation and improved health for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr Dennis Aghanya, Executive Secretary of ARDI, said that the nation, which was currently facing turbulent times, needed prayers from all.
“It is not by chance nor a coincidence that Muslims are celebrating Sallah at this point in time, one of the most turbulent times in our nationhood.
“While I wish every Muslim a happy celebration, I enjoin them to use the holy period to pray for the peace of the country and better health for our President,’’ Aghanya said in a statement.
According to him, there is no better time to reflect on the mutual cohabitation of all Nigerians than now.
He urged Nigerians to see each other as one, irrespective of our religious and ethnic beliefs.
Aghanya faulted agitations by some groups trying to bring division to the country, saying that Nigerians were better off staying together as one entity.
He urged the people to come together in unity for the growth and development of the country, adding that no country divided against itself would stand.
