Eid-el-Fitr: Gombe CP assures citizens of hitch-free sallah celebrations

The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, Hayatu Usman, has assured residents of a peaceful and secured Eid-el-Fitr celebration, emphasising the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, order, and safety throughout the festivities.

The CP stated that as the Sallah celebrations bring joy, family gatherings, and communal prayers, the Gombe State Police Command has heightened security measures across the state.

These measures include increased patrols, strategic deployment of personnel, and collaboration with community leaders to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of life and property and the maintenance of law and order throughout the Eid celebration.

In collaboration with other security agencies, the Command has implemented proactive measures to neutralise any potential threats to the peace and security of the state.

The Commissioner of Police also reiterated the ban on the sale and unauthorised use of fireworks, popularly known as ‘knockout’ or ‘banger.’

The ban is enforced to prevent criminal elements from using these items to carry out illegal activities.

Parents and guardians are urged to be vigilant over their children and wards during this festive period.

The people of the state are advised to prioritise their personal security and report any suspicious individuals through the NPF Rescue Me App or emergency lines 08150567771, and 09036435359, as contained in a statement by ASP. Sharif Sa’ad, Acting Public Relations Officer.
