EFCC boss calls on Nigerians to join campaign against corruption

Kaduna zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday joined their counterparts in other parts of the country to stage the Walk Against Corruption campaign.

Head of Operation of the Kaduna Zonal office, Ibrahim Bappa who led staff of the commission on the walk through Wurno, Katuru, Isa Kaita, Alkali, Ali Akilu, and Rabah road, called on the general public to join EFCC in the fight against corruption.

He said, the walk against corruption was to sensitize Nigerians and call for a common consensus against the twin evil of economic and financial crimes.

According to him, “the twin evil of economic and financial crimes are the major impediments of Nigeria’s development. That is why Mr. President, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari has rightly said that, if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.

“But the truth is that, the EFCC cannot do it alone, we need the cooperation of the general populace to join the fight. They should give us information, which is why we always say, see something, say something and EFCC will do something. We need people to come and expose the corrupt elements in the society, so that we can investigate and recover back our commonwealth and prosecute the corrupt.

“The Kaduna zonal office is open to members of the general public who have vital information to assist the commission.

“Since we commenced operation in the Kaduna zonal office in January 2017, we have made a lot of recoveries and we have charged a lot of people to court” he said.

However, sensitization flyers and pamphlets were distributed to members of the public during the walk.
