EFCC arrests 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, have arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

According to a post on EFCC’s official X account on Tuesday, the arrest occurred on Tuesday, following credible intelligence pointing to fraudulent internet activities.

The post reads partly, “Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included five exotic cars, smartphones, and laptop computers.”

The statement further disclosed that they would be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
