Education summit: Bauchi govt reiterates commitment to implementing recommendations

Bauchi State Government has expressed resolve to implement the recommendations of the educational Stakeholders submit that took place in the state recently.

The move is aimed at proffering workable solutions to every identified challenges in the education sector of the state to achieve the set objectives of improved education.

The assertion was made by the State Commissioner r of Education, Dr Jamila Mohammed Dahiru during the opening of the Smart School flagship fair 2024 organized by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and supported by KOICA held at Model One Smart School, Bauchi on Thursday.

The Commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Ali Babayo pledged the state government’s readiness to continue partnering with relevant bodies aimed at improving the educational standard in the state.

Jamila Dahiru thanked UBEC and KOICA for their support aimed at enhancing students’ learning processes and improving teaching and teachers’ techniques.

In a remarks, the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr Habib Bobboyi assured the commitment of UBEC to continued training and retraining of teachers to meet up with the contemporary technological challenges.

Habibu Bobboyi who was represented by the Director of Training and Capacity Development, Dr Hafsat Lawal Kontagora also appreciated the efforts of State Government in supporting the activities of the Commission in the state

On his part, the State Executive Chairman, Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri acknowledged the commitment of the State Government by providing N10 million as a take-off grant to Smart School for conducive teaching and learning process in the state.

He said that the fair will give an opportunity to showcase the student’s progress in innovation towards transforming the educational landscape in the state and the county at large

Earlier, the  Principal of the Smart School Bauchi, Tahir Babayo rolled out the history, vision, and role of management of the School.

He used the occasion to request State Government to support the Staff of the school with quarters, hostels, and mobility to enable them to discharge their activities effectively as their counterparts in Kano, Nassara, Ekiti, and Cross River states as well as the FCT.

Highpoints of the occasion were quiz competition and project exhibition to select best students who will represent North East subregion at national level of the fair later in the year.
